Department:  Warehouse Operations

Main Responsibilities & Duties

Strategic Oversight

Oversee warehouse operations to ensure alignment with production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.

Process Improvement

Identify and implement improvements in warehouse systems, focusing on storage processes, inventory management, and system enhancements.

Budget Management

Lead the preparation of annual warehouse budgets, monitor expenditures, identify variances, and take corrective actions to ensure budget adherence.

Workforce Management

Manage daily operations, including creating employee work schedules, controlling absenteeism, overtime, and ensuring efficient team performance.

Inventory Control

Oversee the movement and storage of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods, ensuring accurate stock levels and efficient material flow.

Compliance with FIFO

Ensure strict adherence to the "First In, First Out" (FIFO) principle for stock management.

Space Optimization

Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize storage capacity and operational efficiency.

Distribution Oversight

Monitor and resolve issues in the distribution process, ensuring timely departure of all pre-orders and maintaining high service levels.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure all workplace health, safety, and regulatory requirements are met in accordance with company and industry standards.

Operational Excellence

Enhance the quality of loading, discharging, and transportation processes to improve overall warehouse performance.

Stock Monitoring

Continuously monitor incoming and outgoing stock to ensure accuracy and proper handling procedures.

Best Practices Implementation

Lead the implementation of best practices in materials handling across all warehouse locations.

Team Development

Develop plans to improve team performance, including coaching, mentoring, and providing opportunities for skill development.

 

Qualifications, experience and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, supply chain, business administration or any related field
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a proven ability to lead large teams
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills to manage budgets and improve processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management systems (IMS)
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to optimize warehouse operations and team performance
